The mission of Dream Catcher of Los Angeles Therapeutic Riding Center's is to improve the lives of children, adults, and veterans with cognitive, physical, and emotional disabilities through the benefits of therapeutic horseback riding and other equine-assisted activities, while serving the therapeutic riding profession through training and education. Hippotherapy is a physical, occupational, speech or recreational therapist treatment strategy utilizing the movement of the equine and is part of an integrated treatment program.
A trained licensed therapist works with students in a controlled environment. The therapist modifies the horse's movement and carefully gives sensory input. Specific riding skills are not taught during these sessions but rather a foundation is established to improve neurological and sensory processing.
Support is given according to the individual needs of each rider. The preferred tack is a bareback pad which allows the rider to feel more warmth and movement from the horse. Scholarships may be available, please call for more information.

We strive to empower people with physical and developmental challenges to discover their greatest strengths and gain a sense of self-confidence and self-reliance through the special relationship with a horse. Therapeutic riding is one form of Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT). It is horseback riding combined with physical therapy.
The concept of utilizing horses for treatment can be traced back to the ancient Greeks. Later, in 17th century Europe, physicians utilized the horse to treat various neurological disorders. In the last century, when Liz Hartel won the silver medal in dressage in the 1952 Olympics in spite of having polio, medical and equestrian professionals all over the world began to take notice.

ACEing Autism is on a mission for children with autism to grow, develop and benefit from social connections and fitness through affordable tennis programming, uniquely serving individual needs while filling a national void for this growing and worthy population. Trained Program Directors and volunteers lead participants through our curriculum.
At the very heart, tennis is a social game that furnishes a natural opportunity to develop and reinforce skills that many children on the spectrum find a struggle: turn-taking, focus and attending, motor planning, fine and gross motor skills, and more. Our Program Directors meet athletes where they are at and progress through our curriculum at their own pace.
We offer weekly tennis clinics for children with autism between the ages of 5 and 18. Our clinics run for one hour, with sessions running for six to eight weeks at a time. Volunteers are paired up with a participant, hopefully for the duration of the session. The children in our program do not need prior tennis knowledge as our curriculum & volunteers support each child’s individual abilities and needs!

The Outreach Program for Soccer, or TOPSoccer, is a community-based recreational program specifically designed to help athletes with physical and mental disabilities participate in soccer. Cal South has taken part in US Youth Soccer’s TOPSoccer program since 1991, bringing soccer to players who refuse to let their challenges stop them from playing the sport they love through its numerous programs throughout Southern California. TOPSoccer is an opportunity for the soccer community to come together and make a difference in the lives of all participants.
TOPSoccer relies heavily on help provided by “buddies.” Anyone can be a TOPSoccer Buddy: parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles or friends. No soccer experience necessary. If you want to take it a step further, why not become a coach? It’s easy, and there is a US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer Coaching Certification Course available free of cost.

Babe Ruth League, Inc. believes that every child has the right to participate in the games of baseball and softball. We have always encouraged our member leagues to accept all players regardless of their physical or mental ability. The Bambino Buddy-Ball Division was established for organizations who wish to charter a league that encompasses players ages 5-19 who are either physically and/or mentally challenged. This division makes allowance for a “buddy” to help the player swing a bat, round the bases, catch a ball, etc. There are no restrictions to the age of the “buddy”. A Bambino Buddy-Ball team may be comprised of players ages 5-19 and sometimes older. The Bambino Buddy-Ball division is designed so that everyone has the opportunity to have fun.
The Bambino Buddy-Ball Division allows our challenged or special needs athletes to develop confidence and positive self-esteem. It allows them to be part of organized sports and assists with physical fitness as well as their social skills. The joy and emotion you experience when you put on that first baseball uniform or cap on a challenged child’s head is like no other. As you can see, the Bambino Buddy-Ball Division is an emotionally rewarding experience for everyone as it also allows the “buddies” to feel good about helping their challenged friends, while at the same time making it a fun and memorable time for all.

Spirit League offers a year-round youth & adult sports program for athletes with developmental disabilities. Our youth program includes Basketball, Baseball, and Soccer for athletes ages 6-22.
Our baseball curriculum focuses on the three fundamental skills of throwing, fielding, and batting. From week one, athletes will be taught the correct position for throwing and fielding. As the season progresses, those skills will advance, including fielding ground balls (stationary and moving) and catching fly balls with proper glove positioning. Depending on the age division, teams will practice batting with a coach pitching, hit sticks, and tees. Proper hand positioning while batting, in addition to body stance, will be taught.

We are epic surf, skate, and fish events for adaptive athletes.
Founded by 4X world champion quadriplegic surfer Jesse Billauer, Life Rolls On is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with various disabilities. Believing that adaptive sports could inspire infinite possibilities beyond any disability, Life Rolls On began as a splash into the unknown on September 11, 2001; achieved 501c3 nonprofit status in 2002; and now touches the lives of hundreds of thousands.
Life Rolls On events are designed to serve individuals with physical disabilities and paralysis through adaptive surf, skate, and fishing experiences. As Life Rolls On has grown, we are committed to staying aligned with our founding mission while delivering the safest and highest-quality experience possible. Depending on event capacity, staffing, equipment, and conditions, athletes with other disabilities may be included on a space-available basis. All registrations are reviewed individually to ensure appropriate support, safety, and overall experience for every athlete.

Surfers Healing is the original surf camp for children with autism, and we've been serving the community since 1996. Yet what we offer isn't a 'cure', or even 'traditional' therapy. It's a completely different sensation and environment for our participants. We give individuals a chance to encounter the waves, to challenge themselves, to try something new. And since 1 in every 68 US children has an ASD (CDC report, March 2014), our work is more vital than ever.

THERAsurf puts on events to support the health and well-being of children with disabilities, providing the opportunity for kids to experience the power of the ocean and surfing as a form of therapy.
Breaking Mental and Physical Barriers
We embrace the notion that surfing is therapy and believe in its transformational power to instill courage and confidence. We honor the life-altering effects of these experiences and the unforgettable memories they provide for the kids and their families.
We hold that all children are equal, regardless of ability, and respect their individual needs and differences. We recognize that we are their advocates, and welcome their families and friends as part of our community.
We prioritize safety over everything at THERAsurf. Every member of our team has extensive experience in the water and equal experience with a diversity of disabilities.
